Great unlimited data deal
In this world of data-hungry social networking apps, streaming services, and mobile games, unlimited data plans are the way to go. Regrettably, these programs can be quite costly. You’re in luck if you qualify for Spectrum Mobile.
The company’s $45 unlimited data plan is one of the most affordable on the market. It’s also extremely sturdy.
Unlimited talk and text, genuinely unlimited data (no caps), access to hundreds of high-speed Wi-Fi hotspots, free international calling and messaging to certain locations, and mobile hotspot access are all included in this plan. That’s the equivalent of two scoops of ice cream with all of the fixings.
Flexible by-the-gig option
If you prefer to buy toilet paper by the roll rather than in bulk, Spectrum’s by-the-gig plan might be for you. It allows you to only pay for the data you use each month.

This is ideal for people who use 1–3 GB of data per month, but you’ll end up paying more for 4+ GB of data than you would for an unlimited data plan!
Great network coverage
Spectrum Mobile does not have its own mobile network. Instead, it powers its mobile service with Verizon Wireless’ cell phone towers. Customers of Spectrum Mobile will be happy to hear this.

Decent perks
Many cheap and mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), such as Spectrum Mobile, cut corners on incentives. Spectrum, on the other hand, provides some decent extra benefits to its clients.
Mobile hotspot data is one of the company’s most interesting benefits. Spectrum allows you to utilize up to 5 GB of full-speed mobile hotspot data. Your hotspot speeds will be lowered after that, making it difficult to stream previous Community episodes or download large files.
You’ll also get 5G coverage (if you have the correct phone), Spectrum’s Wi-Fi network, 2,000 free minutes of international calling to Mexico and Canada, and free international messaging from the US. Nice.
What we don’t like
Spectrum’s low-cost, high-capacity plans are fantastic, but there are a few drawbacks. Let’s look at the things we don’t care for.
Must already be a Spectrum customer
You must be a current Spectrum home internet client to sign up for the mobile service, as we indicated earlier in this Spectrum Mobile review. Obviously, this is a significant barrier for potential buyers to overcome.
Even if you meet the requirements, you should consider whether you want your mobile plan to be linked to your home internet plan.
If you cancel your internet service but keep your mobile service, you’ll be charged an additional $20 per line each month, and your Wi-Fi speeds will be limited to 5 Mbps. Yikes.
Limited plan options
AT&T and T-Mobile, for example, offer a variety of unlimited data options. Many MVNOs, such as Mint Mobile, provide a range of mid-tier data plans. Spectrum, on the other hand, offers only two plans: unlimited and by the gig.
No problem if one of these plans is ideal for you. However, if you want a company that gives you and your family additional choices, you’ll have to search elsewhere.
